The
bottom of the well might hide many treasures: maybe one day a traveler dropped
his wallet there, when he was drinking water. A diamond could have been hidden
there by a thief. A man might have whispered a magic spell in there, which
would bring remarkable powers to someone who was able to hear and decipher it… However,
none of us are going to throw ourselves to the bottom of the well looking for
hidden treasures. We know that, before finding any treasure, we would find our
death. The same way, we shouldn’t spend our lives looking for treasures far
away or we can die before our quest to attain them is complete. Instead, we
should satisfy ourselves with the small treasures that are very close to us and
that, sometimes, we fail to see because we are concentrating so hard on
