The Clouds (As nuvens)

Looking at the sky, I see clouds passing by. Some move in groups, leaving a space among them, almost making a circle. Some travel alone, going independently to a secret destination. They all have different shapes and sizes. Yesterday, before the rain, they were gray and menacing. Today, they are white and fluffy, seeming very playful.
Like the clouds, I also change my appearance and my behavior. Sometimes I feel heavy, as if I were carrying all the weight of the world. Sometimes my steps are fast, as if an invisible hand is helping me move ahead.
My demeanor, my companions, my mood, my clothes – all these might change. But in the end I am always the same, like the clouds. If I look back at the person who I was when I was 12 years old, there are many similarities to the person I am now. I need to honor this person who lives inside me, recognizing her value. Like the clouds, she has been traveling a long time…

As nuvens

Bjs

Native American Prayer Meditation, by R. Carlos Nakai

FRIENDLY NOTE

My Brother

Nobody expects that you become a millionaire or a saint before the good enlightens your heart and guide your steps.

Sublime is a charity that turns into comfort.

Divine a charity that converts into radiant love.

From tiny seeds come the giant trees that sustain life.

Avoid talking about yourself.

Fulfill your duty without interfering with the tasks of others.

Do not look for praise while going about your obligations.

Do not get stuck to small things, when the overall good requires your collaboration.

Forgive offenses quietly...

(From the book "Our Book", by the Spirit Emmanuel, Francisco Cândido Xavier, posted first on the blog Alvorada Espiritual)

BILHETE AMIGO

NATIVE AMERICAN WISDOM

“When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.”

Chief Aupumut, Mohican. 1725

Chief Aupumut, Moicano. 1725
