The
stone is hard and its surface might feel rough. Touch it again, slide your
fingers over it and you will feel it massaging you like sand grains. Look
closer and you will see that each part of the stone has different colors, different
textures. Some have edges, others don’t. Some are smooth; some are like little
hills, trying to make themselves seen on the arid landscape.
We
are like the stones, the sand, the soil, the river, the sea. We are like all
elements of this Planet and from each one of them we have something to learn.
Look closely, be patient. It takes a million of years for the stone to become
what it is. But be careful: the monk who stays by the river and stares at a
stone for years is not wiser than the one who stares at the stone for awhile,
then get it and throw it at the river, to play with it.
A aspereza da
pedra
You have a very nice blog. I've become a follower.

Nice to meet you Bernadette and thank you for the visit.
ReplyDeleteThis is very wise writing indeed, for just as the texture
of the surface of the stone can eventually be polished
smooth as silk, so can the Universe polish a human spirit
into what it is destined to become.
If you have no objections I would like to add your blog
to a list of my favourite blogs so people who read my
writing can also read your.
I enjoyed reading this very much
I don't know what made me sign in
on here tonight. Perhaps it was
to make a new online friend.
hugs and blessings Sharon
